"Healthy mother — healthy child"

Geographic area: Andijan, Namangan, Fergana, Bukhara, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Navoi, Tashkent regions and Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Beneficiaries: 36 300 people

Project description:

The project is aimed at medical education of girls of pubertal age in the sphere of a rational nutrition and anemia, and informing of pregnant women and women of fertile age on preparations for giving birth (childbirth) as well. In the frames of the project it is planned to carry out seminars in target regions, mainly in rural area, for physicians of the «Health» centers for students of colleges and lyceums, for pregnant women and women of fertile age and hand out manuals and booklets.

 

"Healthy youth"

Geographic area: Fergana, Andijan, Namangan, Navoi, Bukhara, Kokand, Termez, Urgench, Samarkand, Karshi and Tashkent cities.

Beneficiaries: 30 000 people

Project description:

The goal of the project “Healthy youth” is design and introduction of educational methods and programs against AIDS.  The project involves youth of Uzbekistan aged 15-25 in the “Healthy Youth“ Movement by conducting trainings, consultations and youth social actions for young people in Tashkent, Fergana, Andijan, Namangan, Kokand, Bukhara, Navoi, Samarkand, Karshi, Termez and Urgench cities. The project will be implemented in two stages: first stage – activists from target regions will be trained, whereupon they will arrange for the youth social actions for young people in each target city. Second stage – trained activists will inform target audience on the issues of HIV/AIDS, drug addiction, sexually transmitted diseases and tuberculosis by outreach method.

 

Provision of medical equipment for maternity department of regional hospital in Baysun district of Surkhandarya region. Phase 2

Geographic area: Surkhandarya region.

Beneficiaries: 10 000 people

Project description:

The project provides assistance for quality improvement of medical service and access for community members of Baysun district of Surkhandarya region by providing the maternity ward of local district hospital with medical equipment and medicine.
