SISF took part in the online conference organized by the Fund "Forum of culture and arts of Uzbekistan". The conference was dedicated to the results of the year, sharing the opinions of the cultural figures and wide audience, as well as development of the main strategy and plans for the upcoming year.

SISF conducted Annual Conference devoted to the results of its activity in 2008. Representatives of NGOs, government and businesses as well as international organizations and diplomatic missions took part in the event. The participants exchanged opinions regarding the implementation of the Fund's activities in 2008 and discussed further actions to support sustainable development of the SISF projects in 2009.

Issues on joint implementation of projects in 2009 were discussed during the meetings.

The meeting with the delegation of Project "HOPE" (USA) took place at the SISF office. Issues on preparation and implementation of joint projects in 2009 were discussed during the meeting.

SISF conducted monitoring of "Warm Houses-2" and "Support of Young low-income Families" projects in Fergana, Namangan, Kokand and Andijan cities. In the frames of "Warm Houses-2" project autonomous heating systems were installed in Ferghana and Kokand cities. It is expected to install heating systems in Namangan and Andijan cities. In the frames of "Support of Young low-income Families" project Kholdorov`s family from Andijan city received mortgage credit and purchased their own house.

SISF in partnership with Petronas (Malaysia) conducted opening ceremony of projects on provision of medical equipment and medicine for maternity ward of district hospital as well as books for 2 schools in Baysun district of Surkhandarya region. In result of these projects, 15000 inhabitants of Baysun district received access to quality medical services and education.

The meeting with representatives of US embassy to Uzbekistan took place at the office of SISF. The purpose of this meeting was partnership building between SISF and the Embassy for implementation of the joint projects in 2009.

Water pipe-line opening ceremony was conducted at the "Nauriz" mahalla of Kanlykol district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan under the joint project of SISF and "ECOSAN" International organization. In result of the project more than 500 inhabitants of the mahalla received access to clean drinking water.

SISF held International Conference on "Social Initiatives in the sphere of Healthy Motherhood and Childhood Promotion in Uzbekistan". The goal of the conference was to develop recommendations on further cooperation in this sphere. Representatives of Uzbekistan government structures, Austria, France, Japan, Israel, local and international organizations, NGOs and mass media took part in the conference.

SISF participated in the "Fourth Krakow Forum on Policy, Law and Regulation for Inclusive Finance". Forum was conducted in Krakow (Poland) and organized by Microfinance Centre for Central and Eastern Europe and the New Independent States (MFC) in cooperation with CGAP, UN Advisors Group on Inclusive Financial Sectors and the Russian Microfinance Center. The purpose of the Forum is to address issues regarding the legal and regulatory environment for inclusive finance. H.R.H. Princess Maxima of Netherlands took part in the Forum.

The meeting with the delegation of the UNIDO (UN Industrial Development Organization) at the head of the Deputy to the Director-General of UNIDO - Mr. Yoshiteru Uramoto and the Chief of the Europe and NIS program of UNIDO - Mr. Grzegorz Donocik took place at the SISF office. The purpose of this meeting was discussion of cooperation between SISF and UNIDO in implementation of the social projects as well as opening the Centre for Industrial cooperation in Uzbekistan.

SISF jointly with JSC "Microcreditbank" and regional credit unions distributed microcredits to 325 women-farmers in the frames of the project "Provision of Micro Credits for Women-farmers" in Jizzak, Navoi, Samarkand, Bukhara, Andijan, Namangan and Ferghana regions.

SISF became one of the organizers of celebrating "The International Day of Peace" at the "Yoshlar" stadium in Tashkent, jointly organized with Representative offices of the UN, UNICEF, UNESCO in Uzbekistan, Fund "Forum of culture and arts of Uzbekistan", PO "Women's Unity", International organization "Special Olympics" and other social organizations. This day, there was organized a football tournament between the teams of several diplomatic missions in Uzbekistan, ministries and public organizations.

Renovation works were finished at school #10 of Karshi city in the frames of the project "Development and Introduction of National model of ongoing Inclusive Education in Uzbekistan". In particular, reconstruction of sport zone, repairing works of the schools building and classes were finalized.

More than 4500 young people took part in these actions.

SISF conducted monitoring of project "Clean water" in Karshi city of Kashkadarya region. As the result of monitoring it was identified that khokimiyat of Kashkadarya region allocates extra funding for finishing construction of water pipeline.

SISF conducted monitoring of projects "Development and Introduction of National Model of Ongoing Inclusive Education in Uzbekistan", "Provision of medical equipment for maternity department of regional hospital in Baysun, Surkhandarya region" and "Provision of books for 2 schools of Baysun in Surkhandarya region" in Termez city of Surkhandarya region. As the result of monitoring it was identified that construction works are being finalized at the school and kindergarten in Termez. Also, renovation works are running at the maternity department of regional hospital and 2 schools in Baysun to receive medical equipment and books.

There was given a start to "Warm houses" project, which is being realized in Andijan, Namangan, Fergana, Kokand and Tashkent cities. There is planning to install autonomous heating systems to provide heat and hot water for more than 10000 inhabitants in target multifloor houses in these cities. SISF's partners in this project are Home owners association and constructors from target regions.

There was given a start to "Clean water" project. The project was started in "Hudoizod" mahalla of Karshi city and in "Kanlykol" and "Nauriz" villages of Kanlykol district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. As the result of this, more than 4000 individuals will receive an access to clean drinking water. SISF's partners in this project are "Mahalla" Foundation, International organization "ECOSAN" and local khokimiats.
